Teaching management plays an important role in colleges and universities as thebasic activity and central part, and it is the basis of normal operation of teachingactivities, and it is also the important guarantee of enhancing teaching quality. Nowthere are still several problems in teaching management due to some historical andpractical reasons, such as management department neglects the research and theexploration of the teaching management; the teaching management model ismonotonous; the teaching management is lack of innovation, the teaching evaluationtrends to formalization, and so on. This paper discusses the necessity and urgency ofreform of teaching management in colleges and universities in the request of thetime of knowledge economy, the training of creative talents and the development ofteaching management. Teaching management requires to be reformed in knowledgeeconomy, and the reform is the requirement of realizing the target of training talentsin 21st century and of the development of teaching management itself. Meanwhile itexpounds the possibility of the reform of teaching management. From policy aspect,reform of higher education system supplies an opportunity to teaching management;From theory aspect, advanced management theory supplies leading thought toreform of teaching management; From technology informational aspect, nettechnique supplies technical support to reform of teaching management.This paper uses system theory, the conception of human center, PDCA circulationof teaching quality and running regulation of teaching activities in teachingmanagement. So it formed the theory and the thought of modern reform of teachingmanagement. This paper puts forward six countermeasures against problems existedin modern teaching management: firstly, changing conception, enhancing therealization to teaching management; secondly, setting up regulations of teachingmanagement to promote the scientificity and the standardization of the teachingmanagement; thirdly, setting up supervision system of teaching to manage theteaching process efficiently; fourthly, improving management methods and skills toelevate the level of teaching management gradually; fifthly, changing monotonousand administrative teaching management mode, adopting hard and soft managementmode; finally, developing the innovation of management, strengthening the studyand trial of teaching management, pushing forward the development of teachingmanagement to keep it up with the times.At last, this paper carries out the exploration about the reform of teachingVI 高校教学管理改革的理论与实践探索研究management based on the practice in school of pharmaceutical sciences of Sun-YatSen University. It illustrates how higher pharmaceutical education reforms andinnovates in the important part of teaching management such as development target,teaching programs, curriculum system, quality guarantee and supervision in order tofoster creative talents adapt to 21st century. The conclusion show that the tightcombination of the theory and the practice can really improve the quality of teachingmanagement, and can guarantee the procedure of teaching activities.
