| The emergence of web-based education has made instructional method, instructional means and instructional environment take place great changes. In the entirely new instructional environment, the teacher's roles in traditional education as teaching knowledge and morality and answering questions can not accommodate the new education form. Web-based education requires that the roles of the teachers must be broken up and constructed again. In the same time, web provides convenient conditions for the transition of the teacher's roles.Because web-based education is a fresh thing, teachers in the new environment haven't well oriented and transited their roles to adapt the development of the web-based education. Particularly, some teachers in web act as in traditional education, which has influenced the quality and the development of web-based education. So the study of the roles of the teachers in web-based education is very important.During the writing process, [ have visited many web-based college, experts, teachers and students and distributed questionnaires and collected many domestic and overseas research fruits. On the basis of thorough analysis and consideration, with the guidance of modern instructional and learning theories and from the analysis of the characters of web-base education and all the factors, especially students in web-based education. I bring forward that teachers in web-based education should act as a role cluster: knowledge initiators, friends of the students, instruction designers, coordinators, tutors, estimators and supervisors, etc. And I give some constructive strategic suggestions about how to develop these roles in web environment. |
