The existing problems in traditional reading teaching are that the contents of courses are outdated and simplistic and the training methods are over modelized. This has been a painstaking job between teachers and students. How to initiate students interests and improve their reading abilities has been a necessary task in reading teaching.The key to solving these problems exist in basing on the reading classroom where teachers carefully choose reading contents and extract the exact parts to explain, bringing teachers'guiding role and students' participation role into full play in order to improve effectively the students'overall reading proficiency and reading rate; meannhile expanding out-class reading activities. As a result , it's effective in reaching the goal in initiating students'interests and improving their reading a bilities in Chinese.However, the key to reaching this goal is how to efficiently deal with the relationship between intensive reading and extensive reading. They're interdependent, while only the combination of them will make it possible to improve students'reading ability and reading prof icienly. But the purpose of a high-level reanding teaching has far exceeded it. Therefore, Individualized reading teaching built on fully Understanding and respect of students from now on will be an important there in Chinese teaching.
