Macau Private Chinese Secondary School English Teaching Quality Influencing Factors And School-based Management Countermeasures

The economy of Macao has been developing rapidly since the market of gambling was opened. At the same time, many tourists are going to come to Macao to have sightseeing, enjoy the new, special, unique casinos in Macao. The demands on fluent and accurate local English brains are exactitude. However, English education has not developed smoothly in Macao SAR since the private Chinese secondary schools of Macao have been suffering the historical and social affects. It is the right time, the Reformation of Education, for the schools to identify the problems that they are suffering and to make the great efforts to overcome them, which makes the English Study adopt the development of economy and society of Macao in the future.The followings are studied in the research:1. It is important and necessary for Macao to have good English skill local brains, in order to keep the economy of Macao developing, because the rest of the world is also training their own English skill local brains as it is needed. It is certain that the private Chinese secondary school play an important role on educating the brains of Macao by all the facts. Those make this research to be meaning.2. It is going to realize the background of English education of the private Chinese secondary schools of Macao. After that, it is going to analyze the present situation of teaching on reading comprehensive, writing, listening comprehensive and speaking sill through the data from the questionnaire. It concludes that the present situation of English education of the private Chinesesecondary schools of Macao does not meet the needs of the development of Macao.3. The reasons on the teachers' side which affect the development of English education are: the old style teaching method, working overload, the professional knowledge does not exercise well. By the same time, there are also some objective reasons, the students lack of learning motivation, the learning environment is not good, not enough learning material and textbooks, crowded class making the influence as well.4. It is going to give some school-oriented advices based on the above influential reasons. It advises to help the teachers solve their problems and improve the education, by giving suitable in-service training, keeping the working load on reasonable level, encouraging the teachers to use new, creative and useful teaching method. It advises to overcome the objective reasons, by reinforcing the learning motivation of students, optimizing the learning environment, increasing the learning material and textbooks, lowing down the number of students in class.This research tries to give some school-oriented advices by analyzing through the views of English teachers and the objectives factors which might affect English study.
