Objective: To study effect of the long-time moderate exercise on plasma ADM atSHR ,and to explore the mechanism of ADM in depressing blood pressure through exercise , which provides theoretical basis for application of exercise in prevention and cure hypertension.Method: Male spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) were divided into two groupsrandomly : control group (8 SHR) and exercise group (9 SHR) . Exercise group were trained on a swimming at moderate intensity (60min/times) for 10 weeks (6 times/wk). Resting blood pressure and body weight were measured weekly during exercise period. After the exercise period , the concentration of ADM , ET-1 , NO , cGMP and T-NOS activity in SHR plasma were measured.Result: (1) After 10-week swimming exercise , the resting blood pressure wassignificantly decreased by 4.4% (P<0.01) in exercise group while it was significantly increased by 10.6% ( P < 0.01 ) in control group compared with that of pre-experiment .The extent of the body weight of exercise group SHR puts on decreases followed by ages compared with the control group (P<0.01) . (2) Compared with control group , plasma ADM concentration was significantly increased by 38.76% (P< 0.01) in exercise group SHR while plasma ET-1 concentration was significantly decreased by 14.39% (P<0.05) after 10-week swimming exercise . At the same time, plasma NO concentration , T-NOS activity and cGMP production were significantly increased (P<0.05) in exercise group SHR.Conclusion: The long-term regular moderate exercise training can inhibit theincrease of blood pressure in hypertension . One of the mechanisms of Training-induced preventing and cureing hypertension may be mediated by improving plasma ADM level, which suggests that ADM is one of the vasoactive peptides that take part in regulating blood pressure through moderate exercise , which possible mechanism is ADM can enhance T-NOS activity , then NO concentration and cGMP production increased .And that ADM can inhibit the production of ET-1 , which can increase blood pressure .These factors effectively inhibit SHR blood pressure together.
