Our country has already been added to the listed of population aging country. As people’sliving standard and their quality of life are improved, more and more people have beenthreatened by hypertension. In addition, the average age of hypertension population hastendency to become younger. Hypertension is one of the main factors of cardiovascular andcerebrovascular diseases with high morbidity and mortality rates. According to the survey ofWorld Health organization, almost all the centenarian do not have hypertension. The lifespan and blood pressure have negative correlation. This is hardly being questioned.To the hypertension patients, experts thought that if they live a healthy way, it will decreasethe rate of having a complication in order to improve life quality and alleviate society burdens.Tai Chi is moderate, easy to learn that it is a perfect sport for older people, which has alreadybeen proved that it could attenuate the blood pressure. It could effectively balancebody-mind-spirit. Meanwhile, Tai Chi is easy to spread.Based on observation of eight weeks of fifty elder people that has hypertension, theyanalyzed all the physiological targets. By using the method of document, questionnaire andetc, this paper discusses the relationship between Tai Chi and hypertension to support theeffectiveness of Tai Chi.Results:1. Through the analysis of experiment and control group, patients in experiment groupwhich has being practice with Tai Chi, have a decrease of both Systolic blood pressure anddiastolic blood pressure (p<0.05).2. The experimental group after practice has a difference in depression and anxiety(P<0.05). After exercise, patients have a better cardiovascular and cerebrovascular.(p<0.01).3. The body index and weight has a significant different (p<0.05).Conclusion1. Tai Chi could speed up the blood circulation, decrease peripheral resistant and enhanceheart and lung function.2. Through the impact of motor and sensory cortex, Tai Chi could regulate the inhibitoryand excitation to attenuate the tension of blood vassal in order to normalized the bloodpressure.3. Tai Chi could regulate emotion and improve spiritual to avoid accident happen includepsychological problem such as depression and anxiety which could all cause hypertension.Domestic and overseas scholars have already agreed on this.
