In moral education, virtue education has priority to moral principle education, because the people who have virtue can obey the moral principles. Virtue means goodness, brilliance and outstanding, etc. And virtue education is a kind of education that helps people to possess this kind of virtue and make them develop toward goodness.Virtue education has absent in modern moral education. This kind of absence has been showed in 3 aspects. First, the characteristics of modern moral education exclude virtue education. The assessing criterion of "acting" in moral education excludes the assessing criterion of "being human" in virtue education; the appraisability in the contents of moral education excludes the inappraisability of virtue education; pseudo-existence of virtue education in modern moral education conceals the real absence. Second, the absence of virtue education represents at the aspect of lack of tradition virtue education. The variability of concrete virtue concept and meanings of its concept lose in depth meaning of modern life; the carrier connected directly with virtue education is also in a lost condition. Those all result in the absence of traditional virtue education. Third, the characteristics of primary and middle school students and their moral life exclude the feasibility of virtue education.The absence of virtue education always raises the problem of possibility in reconstruction of virtue education. The possibility in reconstruction of virtue education comes from rationality, emotion and active ability naturally possessed by people, and the certain relationship between a person and the others, and society. The practical carriers of virtue education in practical education and resources of virtue education in moral life provide the feasibility of reconstruction of virtue education.To reconstruct virtue education is complicated and difficult, which is not only represented from theoretical aspect, but also from practical aspects.
