Research learning is a hot as well as an important issue in thepresent educational reform. As to mathematics teaching, the research inthe mathematic teaching patterns plays a practically significant role. Thisarticle gives a detailed account about the definition, the features and thepurposes of the mathematic research learning, and at the same time itmakes a brief introduction about the background of research learningbeing done at home and abroad as well as its main theories. Based uponinvestigation and practice, two different kinds of mathematic researchlearning have been brought about in the secondary school. As a result,some conclusions have been drawn in the research work and practice. Thestudents above grade eight are taken as the chief subjects of the learningin the pattern of topic research with the following as the mainsteps----choice of the research theme, collection of data, analysis ofimportant and difficult points, doing research, knowledge renewal,improvement of the guidance in topic research, feedback and summary,teacher-student talk as well as evaluation, and achievements on display.The junior high students are taken as the main subjects of the researchlearning of problem-solving pattern in mathematic teaching with thefollowing process----problem-raising, doing research, improving research,drawing conclusion or establishing theory. Moreover, some requirements,which are only for your reference, have been made on the teachers andtheir skills in carrying out the mathematic research learning.
