With the arrival of the era of knowledge-driven economy, the innovations ofteaching methods and means have already become important issues of presenteducational reform. It will be a great achievement to fully realize the transformationof educational idea and the improvement of teaching methods.The exploration of teaching methods has been carried out in USA since 1960sand its rich empirical experience has received good comment. China's existingteaching method has been considered to be fruitful, too. In this paper, a research hasbeen made between USA and China in historical teaching methods in classroom, suchas doing history, role playing, the method of giving a lecture and the method ofdiscussing. Furthermore, this paper will examine and analyze these methods from thefollowing aspects: teaching mode, teaching course and the evaluation of its valueagainst the new era.Meanwhile, in combination of the author's practical teaching --structuring theself-study discussion teaching mode in the historical classroom, the paper suggestsusing domestic and international experience for reference, attaching importance to theinvestigation of the methods adopted by students to study history, and carrying onhelpful research and exploration in the methods of historical teaching throughtransplantation, transformation and innovation.
