Teachers and students participate in educational activities together, in whichteachers and students influence each other and interact on each other. The quality ofthe teacher-student relationship influences the development of education directly.Educational activities are difficult to launch without the interaction between teachersand students or construction of the good teacher-student relationship. Theteacher-student relationship has always been one of the most important subjectseducational researches concern. Not only because the teacher-student relationshipgenerally exists in the educational teaching course, but because students'cognitivedevelopments and their individual evolutions are complexed, the teacher-studentrelationship is both a kind of background and environment of education and one ofimportant key elements. So, educational research must pay close attention to theteacher-student relationship. However, under the influence of the feudal grade ideaand traditional education thought of J.F.Herbart, before 1980s',the teacher had beenoccupying the status with absolute authority all the time in the course of educationwhile students were in the status of obeying. The teacher-student relationship wastense, cold and detached. Since the eighties of the 20th century, with the gradualdevelopment the understanding of the position and function of teachers and students,the teacher-student relationship has improved a lot. However, it has not still got rid ofthe frame of the two-side opposition, which lays particular emphasis on the functionof the teacher-student relationship on teaching and has obvious instrumentalityorientation,not paying enough attention to the importance of the communication inemotion, attitude, values and spirit between teachers and students. So, this dissertationattempts to adopt the view of humane spirit in order to reacknowledge theteacher-student relationship so that some reasonable suggestions may be given andfurther attention can be attracted to the teacher-student relationship.
