This paper proposes series of directions and principles on exploring local school-based curriculum, combined with the studies both at home and abroad on this field, and with the practice of senior high school chemistry teaching. Under the guidance of the above proposal there developed a set of school-based chemistry textbooks for Grade One of senior high school students. These textbooks introduce some effective chemistry learning strategies and some chemistry knowledge on everyday life or local characteristics. And they offer some guidance for the students on forming their thinking with chemistry perception and on mastering chemistry research methods. The goals of developing these chemistry-teaching materials are to help the students in their successful transitions from junior to senior high school chemistry education. Thematerials also aim at exploring students' wide range of knowledge, and helpfully pave the way for the students for their future chemistry learning. This set of chemistry teaching materials was tried out with three classes of senior high school Grade One in Kunming No. 8 Middle School, which proved to motivate the students' chemistry learning interest, help the students build up their confidence in well learning chemistry, and effectively enhance the students' chemistry learning achievements as well.
