New ideas for curriculum propounded in The Curriculum Criterionof Chinese for Full-time Compulsory Education issued in 2001 are tocatch the characteristics of Chinese education and actively stand for theautonomous, cooperative and inquiring learning method so as to constructopen and vitalized Chinese curriculum and meantime elevate the mind ofthe students comprehensively. Under this guidance, the writer attempts tostudy the Chinese reading teaching from the perspective of Post-modernCurriculum (abbrev. PC) and interpret it in theory as well.This thesis consists of three chapters.Chapter one is concerned with the interpretation of reading teachingfrom the point of view of PC. The teaching of Chinese reading includestext reading and classroom teaching. Hermeneutics in PC points out thattext reading should use dialogues and communications based onunderstanding from the aspects of the particular expressive way of theaesthetic truth of artistic works and its realization. Having assimilated andcriticized Modern Curriculum, Post-modern Curriculum makes clear thatthe exploration of both meaning and truth should be realized by publicdialogues which take the regressive retrospection as the core in classroomteaching. It should be noted that dialogues in text reading determinesthose in classroom teaching.Chapter two deals with the multifaceted perspective of readingdialogue teaching.
