Just because of facing such challenges, we propose the theory of sustainable development for both demonstrating clear direction to human development and seeking a harmonious way of coordinating population, resources and environment. Sustainable development is an essential choice for human beings. With the aim of establishing harmonious connection between human and geography, geography is a subject to research geographic environment and its relation with human being. Sustainable development is interrelated with varied disciplines, but closely linked with geography. With development, the sustainable development has become main issue among the frontier field of geographic research. After expounding this relation, this paper makes further demonstration that the subject of geography in middle school, as primary way to disseminate geographic knowledge, bears the prior task of advocating the theory of sustainable development among middle school students. The subject of geography in middle school should regard the advocating of sustainable development as one of the core aims and place the fostering of students'concepts of sustainable development as significant goals of education. This paper makes profound analysis about how to perform the education to cultivate students'concept of sustainable development as well as deep and comprehensive research about curriculum standards and textbooks of geography subject in middle school. This paper also explains the way and means to carry out the assumption. It is feasible to develop students'concepts of sustainable development by varied education, so as to change living styles by means of sustainable development. It is an important part to transform theory of sustainable development from assumption to practice, which will contribute to national strategy of sustainable development. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Sustainable development, environment problems, geography, middle school geography education, countermeasure | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
