The new Chinese Curriculum Standard , which was released under the reform for the basic education, is finding its way to kick out the corrupt practices of the old Chinese methodology and putting its effort on the future development of the students' individuality. It inherits the good tradition of Chinese teaching, absorbs the experience of foreign method of learning mother tongue, and and find out a series of ways for the new curriculum ideas and methods, which play a dominant place in the new Chinese teaching activity. Many teachers find it hard to adapt themselves to the new teaching system. Therefore, in this article, I cite as evidence masses of documentary data which was published in recent years about the reform on Chinese teaching and the debate on the new Chinese curriculum standard. At the same time, I select many real live teaching examples from my own teaching experience and analyze the related scientific statistics, from the three logical aspects of conclution of the nature of curriculum to the concept of it and the teaching methods as well as the concepts concerned ,we reqard the nathure of Chinese curriculum as "the combination of instrument and humanism " this is a basic idea which suits the Chinese theaching rules. The essay combines concrete teaching phenomenon with teaching cases , and points out that the phenomenon of returning is not a starting point of simple returning to Chinese teaching. It inherits good traditions, incorporates new element of times and therefore it is a development through inheritance. Though it must stand the test of Chinese teaching practice , it has a positive influence on the reforming and development of Chinese teaching. This article analyses these ideas, especially the past problems and misunderstanding of the returning of some teaching methodology and at the same time provides some relevant ways to solve the problems above, which are meaning and practical. It ends with the reasons for the returning of the new Chinese Curriculum Standard and the value of studying them and looks forward to the bright future of the Chinese teaching.
