The reformation of basic educational courses in our country officiallyoriginated in 1999, up to now, it has basically finished the draft, experiment andamendment of the new course system and is aiming to extend among the wholecountry. Being an important part of the basic course reformation, the reformation ofphysical education and health started in Shandong province as one of the experimentalunits in the September of 2004.By using the approaches of documentary, visiting and questionnaire to collectdata, and by the approaches of statistics, comprehensive analysis to sort the data andfiles, this thesis is to analyze the current condition of high school physical educationand health course in Shandong province in order to give some promotive andguiding effects on it.The research has sampled randomly among 80 high schools covering 17 regions,and the scale between the provincial standardized high school and the ordinary highschool is 1:1. Questionnaires are handed out to the school leaders in charge ofphysical education, the P.E. instructors and students, according to which statisticanalysis are made in order to investigate the current condition of high school physicaleducation and health course in Shandong province. Eventually it comes to theconclusion and suggestions as follows:1. The charge department of Shandong attaches great importance to physicaleducation and health course reformation in ordinary high school, andimplements a series of measures to insure the ongoing of the reformation.2. Since the implement of the physical education and health course reformationin Shandong, the result is quite satisfactory. Generally speaking, it is better inthe standardized high school than in ordinary high school, and it is better in eastregions than in west regions. The P.E. course is not paid the dual attention in theordinary high school, furthermore, the teaching equipments are not as good as itis in former. Some school leaders don't pay enough attention to it ideologically;consequently, the supervision to the reformation is inadequate.3. The P.E. instructors of ordinary high school in Shandong province are mainlyyoung and middle-aged, and their diplomas have basically conformed to thenational standard. They take many measures to implement the new standard andplay an active part in the transfer of teachers' roles. However, some teachersstill cannot comprehend the standard of physical education and health and theirthoughts are relatively reserved.4. The high school students in Shandong have some understanding of the physicaleducation and health reformation, but the understanding of the standard ofphysical education and health is inadequate. The incentive of theirs in classconforms to the new standard of "health first" and the contents, organizationalform, teaching methods and evaluative standard they like coincide with the newcourse standard.By analyzing the results above this thesis, according to the current condition ofhigh school physical education and health course in Shandong province, has putforward the following suggestions and strategies:1. The provincial charge department should take efficient measures to promotethe development of the course and execute the function of guiding andsupervising.2. Schools should show more values to the reformation of physical education andhealth and enhance the position of physical education and health in order to takea good advantage of the facilities and the exploration.3. The P.E. teachers should deepen their learning and understanding of thestandard of physical education and health by training and communication inorder to enhance the transfer of teaching attitude, structure of knowledge,teacher-student relationship, teaching methods and learning evaluation, etc.4. It is essential to deepen the comprehension of students to the physical educationand health reformation in order to set up the concept of full-life physicaleducation and cooperate with the teachers' work better.
