Henan Province, Graduate Education Development (1981-2005)

Postgraduate education as the most highest level in higher education system, has became more and more important with the social and economic development. The postgraduate education in Henan Province has acquired a great achievement, especially, in recent years it shows a jumping development, however, it looks relative slower when compared with adjacent provinces. Paying more attention to the postgraduate education is the only way to realize Central Plains Grow up.This thesis aims at giving an explorative research on the developmental course of this field, analyzing the developmental level of postgraduate education in different historical periods. Meanwhile, it offers a comparison with the seven neighbouring provinces: Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong, Shanxi, Hubei, Anhui and Jiangsu Province. It analyzed the influential factors connected with local economy and history and pointed out the existing problems in the postgraduate education's development in Henan Province, also discussed the ways to solve these problems.This thesis consists of 6 parts. In the first part, it discussed background, current research of postgraduate education in Henan Province, and thesis' fundamental structure, aim, clew, means, innovation and so on.In the second part, it analyzed the evolution history about postgraduate education in Henan Province from 1981 to 2005, including postgraduate enrollment size, status in our country and comparing with adjacent provinces. In the third part, it demonstrated the general situation of postgraduate education's authorization in Henan Province from first to tenth, and introduced the mode of professional degree in Henan Province. In the fourth part, it offered the key feature of postgraduate training patterns in Henan Province, taking Zhengzhou University as a case. In the fifth part, it discussed current crucial problem about postgraduate education in Henan Province , and brought forward the solutions to solve these problems. In the end, it summarized the primary contents of this research, and pointed out the shortage of this research.
