Xia Mian Respect Of Language Education Theories

Xia mian zun, the famous Chinese writer, publisher and educator, devoting all his life to Chinese education career and study, he gained great achievements in education by means of teaching practice. In his view, the purpose of school education was to develop the students' ability, both physically and mentally, and what's more, to perfect themselves. For these reasons, he applied himself to Chinese educational reforms, looking for more effective and positive teaching methods as well as studying the shortcomings of traditional educational systems. Mr. Zhu zi qing, one of the great famous writers, regarding him as a pilgrim of education.To begin with the background of Mr. Xia's Chinese educational ideology, we will research the enlightenment of his ideologies by means of his viewpoints of education, teaching methods and his opinions of teaching materials.This paper will fall into five parts:In the first part, we will study the background of Xia mian zun's Chinese educational ideology and analyze how the surroundings effected on him.In the second part, we will look into Mr. Xia's purpose of Chinese education, with his viewpoints of Chinese Curriculum position included.In the following parts, we will introduce Mr. Xia's opinions of teaching methods and in part four, I plan to analyze his views of teaching materials and practices as well.In the last part, on the basis of the previous studying above, we will focus on Mr. Xia's some important views, including modern Chinese education, and with the hope that it will be beneficial to today's Chinese teaching.
