The present study intends to explore the significance of research-oriented learning in Chinese learning context. Theoretically, the study focuses on elaborating the basic meaning of the term, its characteristic and its psychological implications. With its own aim and on the basis of teaching practice, this thesis tries to analyze a number of cases and classroom teaching practice to present a panorama of the general process, the common types and the teaching models in the application of research-oriented learning course. Meanwhile, it also specifies the teachers' roles, how teachers should instruct the students in different learning phases, and how the course should be conducted. By using both narrative methods and diagrams, the thesis introduces in detail the evaluation system, the principles, the content and the methods of research-oriented learning that are used in Han language teaching in Middle school. The thesis also points out the importance of applying research-oriented learning to the basic education of Han language learning in middle school. Finally, the thesis dissipates people's misunderstanding, puts forward suggestions in aspect of research-oriented learning in Han language learning in middle school.
