Baotou, Inner Mongolia, The Floating Population And The Urbanization Process

Twenty years of reform and opening up, China's economic and social development has made a quick progress. Baotou , as animportant city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region-----China's firstprovincial-level autonomous areas ,under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, her urban construction and economic and social development have also made unprecedented achievements. This ancient land, after 50 years of hard work, has been built to be a scale of the event, modern city. As we enter the 21st century, the implementation of the western development strategy for Baotou economic and social development has brought unprecedented opportunities and Baotou can make better use of state preferential policies to strengthen urban construction efforts, opening wider to the outside world, play national regional center of the radiation effect to become China's central and western regional city.With Baotou's rapid economic development, the strengthening of economic ties between geographical places, the active economic development has made population movements to be increasingly frequent, and the scope is more extensive. Since the beginning of reform and opening up, a large-scale population from all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions has moved to Baotou ,which made a great contributions to Baotou's infrastructure and urban development, ease the outflow of rural poverty, but also bring traffic, employment, housing, children's education, and a series of social problems, and the outflow to the rural majority from working adults, to remain in the village are mostly elderly, women and children, affect the local economic development and the impact of the villagers autonomy. With other cities, Baotou mobile population are also many minorities, if those minorities mobile population can not accurately handle properly, it will affect the smooth development of relations between nations in Baotou.
