Presently, the integration of information technology into curriculum (Technology integration) is one of the most important tasks in the curriculum reform in China. Some physics teachers at high schools also take part in this practice of integration. The physics teachers in other countries also do the same thing, and they have gained useful experiences and reached significant conclisions that can help us to improve our work. This study first briefly takes a glimpse at former applications of information technology in teaching, analyzing the existing problems of IT application. The thesis then considers the possibility of integration of IT with physics instruction technically, while it treats the necessity of IT's integration with physics teaching theoretically. The focal point of this research resides in the comparisons between domestic and overseas practices, including the comparison of teaching purpose, guidelines, integration forms ( IT's application into classroom, experiment, research studies and cooperative studies); along with comparisons on software resources, models of integration, social environment and roles of teachers.By comparing, it is found that the physics teaching both at home and abroad stress upon developing students' abilities in scientific investigation, however, there do exist differences in the guidelines.Chinese teachers pay particular attention to employing IT as a tool to improve the density of information transmission. That's why it still remains at the phase of MCAI courseware application. Meantime, Chinese teachers begin to achieve the real-time collection and treatment of data by way of computer hardware, while they come to have new insights into the cultivation of students' abilities through network. Foreign teachers lay much emphasis on IT tools as a way to help students acquire knowledge and conduct research. The result is that they do not much concern themselves with courseware; instead, their emphasis is on raising students' awareness of scientific research using IT. In addition, they have proposed a number of effective integration models. Meanwhile, in the foreign countries, the application of computer aided experiments have gain prevalence with networks infiltrating classroom teaching, all this have helped to promote...
