The utilitarian phenomena in education and the utilitarian environment have caused the absence of aesthetics in senior high school teaching. The existing aesthetic education theories, however, pays more attention to moral education and art education. The aesthetic appreciation is hardly seen in the teaching of physics in senior high school. Physics and nature, physics and aesthetics are artificially lorn apart. As a result, fresh requirements are put forward in this new reform of the teaching of physics with an aim to introduce to students the marvels and harmony of nature, and to develop their curiosity and appetite for knowledge.Having studied literature on aesthetic education, the author tries to trace back the modern development history of aesthetics, and enrich the connotation of traditional aesthetic education. Directed towards the teaching of physics in senior high school, this thesis makes theoretically qualitative analysis on the objective existence of aesthetics in physics, and states clearly the species of aesthetic properties in physical theories. They are symmetrical mode, pursuit of simplicity, means of model and metaphor, abstraction and visualization. In the meantime, the author tries to explore the approaches and methods of aesthetic education in the teaching practice of physics in senior high school via several typical examples accompanied by those aesthetic properties, striving for the harmonious development of teaching and learning, knowledge and emotions with an aesthetic angle of view.
