The rise and decline of a country is determined by education, therefore, education is a radical program. As the core of the third generation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCCPC), Jiang Zemin, highly holding the Mao Zedong thought and Deng Xiaoping theories, emphasized on the education as a prominent strategical position in China's national economy and social development. Jiang, based on scientifically and roundly judging international and national situation's development and change, constantly enriched and developed Mao's education thought and Deng's education theory from the two aspects of theory and practice, which made an important contribution to our country's education and reform, and provided talent support and intellectual supporting. Jiang's education thought was of rich content, deep thinking, obvious feature, and deep meaning. Therefore, to study earnestly and systemically the Jiang Zemin's education thought under the new situation is useful for us to recognize consciously and deeply education's position and function in the national economy and social development, to further solve more scientifically existing problems in real life well, and to contribute ourselves to the great aim of realization of socialism construction.In the thesis, such study methods as comparison analysis, document analysis, induction, and adduction are comprehensively used to analyze and study theoretical basis, time background, scientific system, and thought features of Jiang's education thought as well as its importance for our country's education. The thesis contains four parts:Part I concerns the theoretical basis and time background of forming of Jiang Zemin's education thought. Jiang Zemin's education thought was inherent from Marxism education thought and develops on it, which was also inherent from Mao Zedong's education thought and Deng Xiaoping's education theory. Jiang Zemin's education thought occurred naturally under the specific historical situation, and it had deep theoretical origins and distinct time characteristics.PartⅡis related to the main content and theoretical characteristics of Jiang Zemin's education thought. Jiang Zemin's education thought contained a large amount of content, covering all aspects of our country's education, which formed a comparatively complete education thought system with distinct theoretical characteristics.PartⅢexplains the importance of Jiang Zemin's education thought. Jiang Zemin's education thought theoretically enriched and developed Marxism education thought, and practically had a great influence on the reform and development of our country's education, which had far-reaching and profound theoretical and practical meaning.PartⅣdiscusses how to further develop Jiang Zemin's education thought in the new historical condition. Jiang Zemin's education thought is not end pole of Marxism education thought, therefore, under the new situation of opening and reform, it is necessary to further develop Jiang Zemin's education thought to suit the need of time.
