Over the past decade, the reform of basic education has become a worldwide trend. All countries' reform has focused on the teachers. In order to successfully carry out the education reform, we should build a team of high quality teachers who can meet the requirements of new curriculum teaching. The quality of the teacher has become a focus of the people. The new curriculum reform that I am implementing poses new challenges to the teachers. Teachers should upgrade educational concept, adopt new teaching method to meet the requirement of the new curriculum. Teacher is a crucial factor in the process of developing new curriculum reform of the basic education. The quality of primary school teachers determines the goal of primary school's curriculum reform as well as the smooth implementation of the teaching activities. It also constitutes a prerequisite for nurturing high-qualified talents. Therefore, whether the teachers are familiar with the background of new curriculum reform, whether they agree with the concept of the new curriculum reform, whether they will implement the concepts of new curriculum reform in the process of teaching will exert a direct effect on the development of the teachers and the effective implementation of the new curriculum.Facing curriculum reform, we should carefully research the status quo of the primary school teachers, review their quality structures. This paper carries a research on the status quo of primary school teachers' classroom quality by using self-made questionnaires and interviews. It aims to find out whether the teachers' quality meet the requirement of curriculum reform, and the gap between the quality that needed in classroom teaching and the requirement of the new curriculum, so that we can propose some constructive suggestions on the continuing education of on-the-job teachers, and adopt a series of reforming and adjusting measures to make the teachers become the driving force for curriculum reform. This thesis consists of five parts:Part one: propose the reasons for research and the questions for discussion;Part two: discuss the content of teacher's quality and the teachers' quality structure required by the new curriculum;Part three: investigation and interview on the status quo of the teachers' quality;Part four: make an analysis on the causes of the gap between the teacher's quality and new curriculum's requirement;Part five: propose some constructive suggestions on the continuing education of on-the-job teachers based on the summary of the previous chapters.
