With unceasing advancement in the new curriculum teaching for high school fine arts, the new curriculum criteria proposes a new quality requirement of the high school fine arts teacher, and accordingly, the training of the high school fine arts teacher becomes the hot topic in the fine arts educational research. Briefly put, as an important constituent of the new curriculum reforms, how to train the high school fine arts teacher is argued to contribute to the realization of the goal of the high school quality education,i.e., all-around development of the students, and have the huge influence on the success or failure of the high school fine arts new curriculum reform.The research method of this paper is literature analysis, investigation, comparison research. Within the background of the high school fine arts new curriculum reform, the paper studies the present situation and the problems of the high school fine arts teacher training. Then it further discusses basic nature of the high school fine arts new curriculum, the quality structure of the high school fine arts teacher, the general feature and tendency of the development of domestic and foreign high schools fine arts education, and the role transformation and the career development realized by high school fine arts teachers and so on. Based upon this, with the research of the domestic and foreign teachers continuing education training and the new curriculum teacher training as the theoretical struction, the author carries out the investigation and the analysis of the domestic training of the fine arts teacher in high school. After the theoretical research and result analysis of the investigation, the paper proposes the following five patterns of high schools fine arts teacher training: the microteaching training pattern, the research-activity training pattern, inquisition-type training pattern, the School-based research training pattern, the network long-distance training pattern. In the aspect of training content, the paper proposes five kinds of training contents: the training of educational knowledge and teaching method knowledge, the training of fine arts knowledge and skill, the training of cultivation of the new concept of high school fine arts curriculum, the training of high school fine arts new teaching material, and the training of humane knowledge and natural sciences.
