With the introduction of market competition to the development of advanced professional colleges, the significance of the brand major is gradually apparent in the development of the advanced professional colleges. Based on the problems existing in the former research on the brand major of Chinas advanced professional colleges and the present situation of the brand major construction, this dissertation plans to define the connotation of the brand major of the advanced professional colleges from the theoretical aspect, analyzes the necessity of the brand major of the advanced professional colleges, aiming to promote their raped development.The brand major refers to the one whose academic conditions, reform achieved the first rank. It mainly has five characteristics: the brand loyalty of the brand major lays more professionality and practicability , high employment rate of graduates. Constructing the brand major is not only the requirement of the self-development of the advanced professional colleges, but also the requirement of the development of our society and students' major.Through the research this dissertation finds that the present situation of the brand major construction of our advanced professional colleges is unsatisfactory. The existing problems are as follows: the establishment and development of the brand major seriously restricted by the conditions of the advanced professional colleges themselves, whose educational patterns are inflexible and educational funds are short of hand; the social basis of the brand major of the advanced professional colleges is poor. Its social acceptability, popularity and reputation are commonly low and the satisfaction of the teachers is not high.As to the problems existing in the brand major construction of the advanced professional colleges, this dissertation gives relevant strategies and suggestions from the aspect of its inner construction as well as outer construction. The inner construction emphasized the position fixing, programming and establishment of the brand major, the appointment, training and assessment of the excellent teachers, and the exploration of the curriculum system; The outer construction mainly emphasizes media propaganda and enrolment, the establishment and extension of the brand culture, the cooperation between colleges and enterprises, and the standardization and promotion of the non-government colleges.
