There is a reform and an adjustment on the system of higher education in China since 1990s, aiming at sharing the resources, improving the power of universities and promoting the efficiency for running universities. A number of multi-campus universities appear after merging more than six hundred colleges and universities. Meanwhile, a lot of colleges and universities enlarge or build the campuses in order to adapt the need of expanding the recruitment of students for the rapid development of higher education. Consequently more and more multi-campus universities are formed. Now the multi-campus universities have become a feature of the higher education in China. At present, the emergent of multi-campus universities is a big subject of our higher education, including how to manage the decentralized campuses, effectively dispose the recourses, and build new courses and campus culture to make a balanced development of multi-campus universities.Based on those points, this thesis, aiming at contributing to the development of higher education, attempts to do a systematical research on the multi-campus universities from the perspective of the organizational culture. Firstly, this thesis introduces the theories of multi-campus universities and the organizational culture and analyzes the basic contents, hierarchy, characteristics and function of the organizational culture in colleges and universities. Secondly, this thesis focuses on the importance and necessity of building the organizational culture in the multi-campus universities and analyzes the internal and external problem of multi-campus universities. Finally, this thesis explores the principles and the practical methods of building the organizational culture in the multi-campus universities.
