Nowadays, science and technology is developing rapidly, so people not only need knowledge, but also need to learn how to obtain and renew knowledge, exploit all kinds of self-potential and develop the ability of life-long learning. The the new high school physics curriculum reform aims at improving the students'science accomplishments, helping them obtain necessary physical knowledge, skill and method needed by future development to improve their scientific inquiring ability, and stimulating the students'innovative potential to improve their practical ability. However, investigative study is exactly an efficient way of achieving this goal. It is an up-to-date teaching theory, whose core is the fostering of innovative spirit and practical ability. Hence, during the teaching of high school physics new curriculum teachers should carry out investigative study actively, arouse the students'interest, encourage them to make innovations, and cultivate their independent learning ability and innovative ability so as to increase classroom teaching efficiency greatly. This thesis studies the background of investigative study, as well as simply states its meaning, characteristic and theoretical basis. This thesis lays emphasis on carrying out the practical activities of investigative study by means of physical experiments and puts forward the achievement and reflection of investigative study. On the basis of the combination of theory and practice, taking physics investigative study for example, this thesis aims at conducting some useful attempts and exploration for the specific operational pattern of carrying out investigative study activities in high school physics new curriculum teaching and puts forward some relevant pondering questions.
