Student evaluation of teaching effectiveness was started in Americain the 1920s, and regarded as the most common resources for collectingteaching validity and the most important standard for checking teachers'task. In the late1980s, our country formally started and put it intoforce .So far, it has been widely applied to the evaluation both inuniversity and middle school. Therefore, the research into studentevaluation of teaching effectiveness is of great significance andimportance in reality.As to student evaluation of teaching effectiveness, researches bothabroad and at home have conducted discussions on its validity, the factorsaffecting, the students' evaluation, and measures improving students'evaluation. However, all the researchers put emphasis on either theory ofevaluation or on the conclusion to the experience of evaluation practice,instead experimental demonstrations are fewer .the whole process ofevaluation can't reflect the ideas of two evaluating parts——teachers andstudents. On one hand, researchers pay more attention to the evaluationfrom the university students, on the other hand, they put less attention tothat of middle school students. For this reason, this research mainly referto middle school students'evaluation. With the methods of questionnairesand interviews, with the purpose of knowing about opinions of twoevaluating parts on such questions as how to evaluate, why to evaluateand so on, on the basis of a good knowledge of current condition ofstudents' evaluation, we should recognize some problems in relation toevaluation,raise effective strategies to enhance the evaluation. Theexisting problem about student evaluation of teaching is as follows:Schools just take student evaluation of teaching as tool of administration;index system is simply; teachers and students participate less in indexsystem's making; the feedback of evaluation activities is inaccurate and so on...In order to enhance the validity of student evaluation of teaching, weshould put it in a proper orientation; make out a proper index system forevaluation with teachers and students; make the students understandevaluation more; feed back the result of evaluation effectively...
