Early Childhood Investment Analysis

This thesis is a research on early childhood education investment. Focusing on early childhood education in the city of Zhang Jia Gang, this research uses individual case studies to investigate how Zhang Jia Gang invests in early childhood education and to summarize its characteristics, of which the author then present a theoretical analysis.Based on review of existing literature and documentation, the author recount the development of China's early childhood education investment policies and provide an analysis of the current early childhood education investment situation in our country. The author also briefly introduces the early childhood education investment models in other countries.Through on-site research in Zhang Jia Gang and analysis of research findings, the author present an analysis on the source and direction of the city's early childhood education investment, which can be summarized as the following: 1) heavy investment on early childhood education, 2) local government as the largest early childhood education investor plays an essential role, 3) children's families shouldering fair share of early childhood education cost, and 4) business investment leaning more towards construction of kindergartens.From a multidisciplinary perspective, the author investigates the source of early childhood education investment through the lens of Economics, while use Science of Policy theories to explore its direction. The author then conducts theoretical analysis on the outcome of early childhood education investment from the perspective of Sociology.Lastly, based on the current development situation on our country's early childhood education investment, the author suggest to finalize and publish 'Early Childhood Education Act' in the near future, and build a comprehensive management system on early childhood education investment.
