Hefei Area College Volleyball Activities Investigation And Countermeasures Research

Volleyball is one of the items of university P.E teaching contents. With the selective course system brought in, how to improve the volleyball course teaching quality has been part of the reform of university P.E course. To reveal what volleyball teaching is really like in universities and the existent problems, the essay is to conduct a survey into the actual conditions of volleyball teaching & activities in the Universities of Hefei by using Sports Sociology, pedagogics and school athletics. And with the method of questionnaire, structural interview and data statistics, the following conclusions are reached:1. The coaching staff are mostly middle-aged or younger, full of energy but deficient in basic coaching theory, scientific research ability and academic degree level.2. Many P.E teachers need to renew their teaching notion, exercise their creativity, reform their teaching method and take the initiative in instructing students after class.3. Volleyball curriculum resources are not distributed systematically; students aren't so aware of the importance of sports and therefore fail to make efforts to participate in sports, including volleyball.4. Lack of investment in training courts and facilities, some of which are poorly deployed and even wasted.5. What is taught is too athletic with too little sports theory and too complexassessment, which has little to do with real matches.6. With few inter-school events or volleyball matches on campus, students don'thave many chances to play.7. The main factors that limit the development of volleyball sports in the universities in Hefei are : teachers, students, volleyball sports itself, sports facilities, teaching contents, teaching management and few events, etc.Solutions put forward to promote volleyball sports in Hefei:1. Focus on both teaching and scientific research, lift volleyball teachers' academic level, develop their creativity, and encourage their further education.2. Reconstruct volleyball curriculum resources, reform teaching contents and methods to optimize traditional P.E classes by bringing in entertainment, culture and prescribed exercise.3. Be aware of college students' "bi-role" in P.E classes.4. Integrate the time and space of volleyball events, make use of IT tech (Volleyball websites) and provide students with bigger stages to learn and promote Volleyball sports.5. Organize more inter-school events of different levels to get more students involved in the activity. 6. Make better use of the existent facilities by rebuilding the present volleyballcourts and improve the equipment.
