Environmental Education In Secondary School Teaching Of Geography In The Theory And Practice,

The history of environment education has been more than half of century since it is founded. And it is also more than 30 years in China. Environment problem frequently arises and gets more serious, such as acid rain, greenhouse effect, water resource crisis, city air pollution, soil desertification, decrease of forest area, water and soil erosion, extinction of species, ozone cavity, garbage pollution and so on. All of them reveal that environment education shoulder heavy responsibilities. Large numbers of facts have proved that environment education is one of key content of geography subject. With universality and variety of environment problem, it gets more and more important to reinforce environment education for students since coming into new century. Especially development at top speed of our country economy since reform and opening is at the cost of sacrificing environment. Our government has taken full cognizance of its severity. It is impossible to be substituted by the other subjects for student's environment education via geography subject. The content of environment education is quite abundant and education way is various.This article simply looks back development course of environment education and analyses and sorts out correlative theory of recent internal and overseas environment education. It expounds necessity of implementing environment education and discusses implementing way of environment education in teaching geography via questionnaire investigation and information analysis. This article considers that there is existing a lots of misunderstanding in environment education. They are analyzed in this article. Environment education can't be limited by conventional education and teaching way because of its particularity. This article considers that implementing environment education in practice and after-school activity is main way of environment education in terms of actual teaching experience.
