University Teachers And Mental Health Problems

This article combines theoretical and positivism methods which includes document survey, educational investigation, mental measurement, case study, interview, and summarizing the experience to research the mental health condition, the causes of mental health problem, and the strategies improving mental health of university teachers. The results of the research indicate that:1. The detectable rate of university teachers mental health problem is 37.89%, university teachers mental health is lower than general people remarkably.2. The mental health of university teachers who have different genre, age, academic qualification, teaching age in university, and major subject has no remarkable difference.3. University teachers in different marriage state have remarkable difference in anxiety, sleeping and dieting. The divorced teachers have higher anxiety, and the cohabited teachers have more serious terror state, and have worse sleeping and diet.4. University teachers in different finance state has remarkable difference in the whole marks of mental health, interpersonal sensitiveness, depression, hostility, terror, paranoid, and psychopathic, the difference in anxiety, sleeping and dieting is extremely remarkable. The teachers per-capita household income below 500 and the teachers per-capita household income between 500 and 1000 have the worst mental health.5. The professional pressure of university teachers manifests in four aspects: negative self-consciousness, negative feeling, bad physical feeling and professional burnout.6. The source of university teachers professional pressure: lack of evaluated awareness, assessment, comparing pressure, the anxiety of worrying about trouble.7. The degree of university teachers professional pressure is positively correlated with mental disorder, that is the higher subjective pressure, the more serious mental disorder.8. University teachers professional pressure is positively correlated with psychopathic factors, and the coefficients of correlation are all above 0.3.9. The causes resulted in the university teachers mental health problem include: professional pressure, teachers'psychophysical state, social support.10. The self-maintenance of university teachers mental health includes: setting up a correct self-consciousness, adjusting self-assessment, adjusting feeling, raise reality sense.
