Experiment of basic education and entire operation come into action nationwide since the issue of mathematics curriculum criterion of nine-year compulsory education in 2001.The idea advocated by new curriculum has gotten general agreement from many sections. At the beginning of operation of new curriculun,however,educators are confronted with many questions and puzzles.Different people tend to use different ways to handle the same thing .Furthermore ,how about the effect of new curriculum?Teachers earnestly get clear defining from the operational prospect.This article carefully surveys the operation of the third passage in compulsory education ----space and shape ----through paper surveying and cases following ,and analyses contents of teaching,ideas of teachers and the learning of students. On the base of concerned theories,this article analyses cases from concrete level ,tries to disclose the idea behind the behavior ,and explores the operation of new curriculum according to evaluating idea of new curriculum.
