Comprehensive Survey Of Shanxi Medical Graduates

Objective:By the investigation of the 2006' graduates,we explored the teaching status of our school,the basic conditions and the employment situation of graduates.So we can provide a theoretical basis for the school's teaching reform and the strengthening of the guidance and services of employment.Method:Using the method of cluster sampling,we investigate all of the 2006' graduates by a questionnaire,"the comprehensive condition questionnaire of the 2006' graduates in Shanxi Medical University".There are 4 parts in the questionnaire:individual information,the evaluation of the teaching status,self-assessment and the employment situation.Data was analyzed with SPSS 10.0 statistic software.Results:(1)In the evaluation of the teaching status,graduates's evaluations of the teaching environment is in the following order:the style of study,curriculum,teaching quality,basic facilities;the evaluations of the status of teachers is in the following order:professionalism, teaching ability,teaching standards,attitude.(2)In the evaluation of self-assessment,graduates's evaluations of self-ability is in the following order:basic theoretical knowledge,professional knowledge,professional training,practice ability,knowledge of humanities and social sciences, scientific research and innovation capability,foreign languages,computer proficiency;the evaluations of self-awareness is in the following order:the aspirations of development in the medical field,performance record,the love of the profession,the understand of the profession, the degree of effort.(3)The investigation of employment situation of graduates indicates:①There are 74.81%graduates employed,and 25.20%unemployed.In the graduates employed, most of them passed the entrance examination of graduate and others employed by contract.In the graduates unemployed,most of them decided to prepare for the entrance examination of graduate,another of them planed to work,and there are very few options want to have their own businesses or professionals.On the whole,the employment pressure is in the performance of employment difficulties and psychological pressure.②The influence factors of the decision of graduates are in the following order:the mind of themselves,the guidance of teacher,the reference of parents,the influence of classmates and friends,self-promotion of the company.③There are 80.12%graduates who employed satisfied with their work,and 73.85%satisfied with their performance in the course of employment.④The influence factors of the selection of occupation are in the following order:the development and success of occupation,the city of working,reunion with their family,improvement of their economy and life,struggle and challenges,interests and hobbies,leisure and entertainment,the opportunity to serve others, social status and glory.⑤In the evaluation of the guidance and services of employment,there are 77.46%graduates agreed with our work,70.19%graduates have actively participated in the courses about the guidance and services of employment,and 65.60%graduates pay more attention to our employment information network.⑥The employment guidance the graduates expected are in the following order:employment information,counseling and planning of career, skills in employment,the employment situation and policies,psychological counseling.The employment information is obtained in these ways:campus job interviews,campus employment information network,the recommendation of teachers,the introduction of relatives,social job interviews,social employment information network.Conclusion:2006' graduates are satisfied with the teaching status,self-assessment and guidance and services of employment,and it means this 3 aspects have been accepted by majority of graduates.In the other way,we also found that there is deficient in basic facilities, teaching quality,the english and computer proficiency of graduates,the form and content of the employment guidance courses.So it requires that,we should continuously improve teaching quality and basic facilities,strengthen the guidance and service work of employment,and provide a better learning and employment environment for the students.
