In 1999, the third national education work issued The Decision to Deepen Education Reformation to Advance All-around Quality Education by the Central Committee of the CCP State Council to Made a Decision to clearly express the request: " The training key point as the teachers is to enhance the teacher to implement the abilities of quality education." In China, sports colleges and universities are undertaking the main task which educates the aerobics, so improving the teacher's abilities of the sports colleges and universities is the key which impro ve the aerobics. Plan Summary of 2002-2005 Year National Talented person Constructing further to point out:" The main aim of improving overall quality of the talented person is: To improve the politics quality, to strengthen the occupational ethics construction, also to enhance more greatly in knowledge and comprehensive abilities.According to China's education reformation from exam - oriented education to the quality education as well as the aerobics, specialized characteristic in the sports colleges and universities, on the basis of discussing the abilities as the teacher needed and the various abilities for special characteristic, the paper described the present situation of the aerobics teacher's abilities of China sports colleges and universities, and proposed some suggestions, so as to provide the theory and the reference for improving the aerobics teacher's abilities.The paper chose the teach ers aerobics of China five sports colleges and universities as the research object, with combination of documentary analysis, questionnaire investigation, expert interview, data statistics and logic analysis, it carries on the investigation and the analysis to its basic situation and the abilities in present situation and the influence factor, the conclusion as followings:1. Age and the title's proportion of the aerobics teachers in China sports colleges and universities are reasonable, but educational level, gender, study aspect and so on has the unbalanced phenomenon.2. The abilities of aerobics teacher in China sports colleges and universities mainly include the teaching abilities, the innovation abilities, the scientific research abilities, the training abilities, the human communication abilities and so on.3. The factors affecting aerobics teacher abilities in China sports colleges and universities mainly include: being lack of attention to the importance of the abilities by leaders, heavy teaching duty, weak cultural foundation, somewhat low rank for the referees, being lack of opportunities to lead the students to take part in th e aerobics competition and so on.4. Suggestions to improve aerobics teacher abilities in sports colleges and universities: Leaders pay more attention, establishing the reasonable policy, encouraging the teacher positively to participate in the professional abilities and providing more opportunities to leader the students for the competitions. In addition, should recruit the persons to become reasonable proportion of age; by reasonable layout, pursue supplementary superiority improvement study reason structure. All of these will create good internal and external conditions for enhancing the abilities aerobics of teacher in China sports colleges and universities.
