After the publication of《Promotion Law of Private Education》, China private education entered into a new booming stage and became the highlight of current education. In recent years Shandong province emphasized on the strategy of"Science and Teaching for the Prosperity of Shandong", and paid much more attention to all sorts of education, therefore this promoted the developmet of private eduaction.The number of private middle and primary schools grew rapidly. School surroundings and inner management, the quality of teaching and students etc. are also improved greatly. P.E teaching is one of the dispensable content in accomplishing the quality education for private primary and middle schools, and P.E teaching is the core of the P.E work and the fundamental approach of accomplishing the goal and task of P.E education. Therefore specilised invetigation and countermeasure research on current P.E. teaching in the private primary and middle schools of Shandong Province has practical meaning in enhancing the P.E.teaching quality of private shools, deepening the reform of P.E. teaching and adapting the present quality education and requirment of the reform for the P.E. curriculum.This paper adopts many methods such as documentation, questionnaire, expert interview and on-site inspection, studies the current situation of P.E.teaching, teacher stuff, material condition of P.E. and relative factors in Shandong private schools. The results show:1. The percentage of opening P.E. curriculum and the level of standardization of P.E. teaching are high. The students have great intrests in learning P.E. and have diversified motivation and right attitudes.2. The enforcement of criteria of P.E.(and health) curriculum is not enough, freedom and random of theory teaching is relative popular, there exits great gap of conception and requirement between the object, content, methods and evaluation of the old private P.E teaching and the new one.3. The source of P.E teacher stuff is complex, mainly are middle aged and young teachers and the qualification of eduactional level is high. However full-time teachers are relatively insufficient, low percentage of female teachers. The age and the title of technical post of teachers are irrational, general scientific research capacity is low.4. There exits obvious unequal phenomena of P.E material condition in different private schools, polarization is serious and can not fullly meet the need of teaching and studying.5. The real status of P.E curriculum is low; the management system of P.E teaching is imperfect; the leaders of schools pay little attention to it; the outlay of P.E is not enough and field equipment is insufficient; the workload of P.E teachers is heavy, but the welfare is low, futher education chance is few and the stability of teacher stuff is worse, these are the main factors that influence the tecaching quality of private schools.
