For long time, the teaching method of middle vocational school used the teaching system of common middle school: pay special attention to classroom instruction, neglect the characteristics of vocational school and personality of each student. For this reason, an overwhelming majority of vocational school teachers couldn't change their mind while teaching: with a simple teaching method, an outmoded content of courses, limited in teaching knowledge and narrow in experience, especially know little about vocational teaching.BTEC certificate course is a kind of vocational education mold which is famous in international. BTEC certificate course is awarded by EDEXCEL FOUNDATION. The main teaching mode is: Common skill is the most important skill, there are 18 common skills for students to practice which real reflect students'vocational abilities; Students are the center in teaching course, teacher should think more about students, and give them teaching service. Students should learn how to study and study by themselves; Assignment plays important role in students'learning. While teacher designing the assignment, they must consider students'future work, make sure that the assignment is contact with vocation. Students'collect and research examples will be their summary of outcomes, teacher should teach them how to find these possible evidence; strict inner and outer assessment process ensure the quality of teaching level. At last, by this teaching mold, students'creativity and personality are improved.On June, 2003, our school passed EDEXCEL credentials committee's examine, gain the qualification to be one of the center of BTEC in china. Till now, there are 140 registered students, 36 of them had graduated on July, 2006, gain BTEC National Diploma. BTEC teaching mold is now extended into other teaching field and its excellent work won the enthusiastic approval of British expert.This paper research the status quo of Chinese teaching method, study different kinds of teaching mode in china and other countries ,use the experience of BTEC for reference, analyses the present situation and question, tap the latent power of teaching ,find the main content of changing teaching method in middle vocational school, put forward some rationalization proposal on the question,wish it would be useful for middle vocational school to carry its reform in education a step forward and to improve its teaching quality.
