It is a very long history since the names were used by ancestry.The coinage of names meets the need to communicate with others and bears the significance of social attribute.Names also have the cultural attribute to carry the meaning of history and culture.Manchu names are crystallization of their history and culture and they possess various characteristics in history.These characteristics reflect different culture meanings and show many aspects of Manchu community,such as,cultural tradition,custom and habits,thinking mode,material life,beliefs and living conditions.By studying the names' evolvement,we will know that Manchu history has developed with times.And,that is just what we call the cultural value of Manchu names.This thesis intends to analyze the cultural value of Manchu names by studying them in the context of history and culture.
