Northern Dynasties Private Study

Wei Jin and Southern-Northern Dynasty for about 400 years, is an important times of turbulence and confusion after the Chunqiu and warring states. Though it has been unjustly said to be "indistinct and disconnected", it is in fact a period when the educational system became diversified, private school developed rapidly. Northern private school which is also boom period after Han Dynasty in Chinese history has important meaning and academic values. But Northern private school differs from Han Dynasty' private school. Eastern and western Han period, the ruler abolished away other theories and venerated Confucianism only, therefore, the examination gave first place to Confucianism, but the Northern Dynasties' private school had shaken off fetters and developed by the social requests. In this period of time, private school displayed all kinds of forms. For example, Clan education,personal lectures,Taoism lectures and Temple lectures. In the middle of private school ,the clan education is an important and continuous development of the clan to degree benefits from their cultural training ,such as the family study and the family principle. The cultural training of the clan is the foundation to the family development. The development and prosperity of their family culture contributes to preserved culture This had a considerable impact on educational systems in the millennium, Confucianism Buddhism metaphysics science history and art were taught in private school. Confucianism gradually lost its dominance in the diversity of learning ,but it still occupied an important position in private schools. The learning of Confucianism in this period bridged the gap between the Han Confucianism and the Tang Confucianism and even the Song Confucianism.Based on Marxist Scientific approach to historical analysis and abundant accumulated historical archives ,this paper intend to make a deep survey of this problem, and displays all-round the picture of Northern Dynasty private school.
