The teaching design is not only an essential factor which affects the classroom instruction quality but also a basic element that plays a notable impact on implementing the new curriculum conception and realizing the curriculum reform. In the past 20 years, the research on teaching design has gained many achievements in our country. Anyhow, along with the new curriculum's implementation, the teachers are faced with new challenges at present. so, it appears especially important for teachers to reconsider the research on the teaching design according to the new situation. Based on the above mentioned ponderation, The paper has first launched the teaching design concept and the connotation elaboration, then carries on the comparative analysis to the different period high school geography teaching design, then the question which exists to the geography teaching design in carries on the diagnosis, which indicates that the middle school geography teachers have realized the importance of the geography teaching design, yet, owing to their limited understanding of the teaching design functions and superficial cognition of the teaching approach combining information technology with curriculum , the massive problems exist in the concrete operating process.It reflects not only on the imcomplete or one-sided analysis of its learner and content of its course, but also on the superficial cognition of its teaching targets and less standarded teaching aims statement as well as one-sided teaching assessment . In view of the existent problems, the paper then presents some practical solving methods through the theory discussion and practical operation and meanwhile develop strategies for dealing with related problems from the development of comprehensive, suitable geography teaching objectives; handle the pre-class and class formation of default; importance of students learning foundation help students learn; perfect reflection of the teachers, and other aspects of the proposed measures. Lets the teacher enhance the geography teaching design diligently ability.
