Educational assessment in China has experienced a long period of evolution since Kejv system in Ancient China. In a word, educational assessment is the assessment system for education development, that is, "Improve the learners' learning activities and the teachers' teaching activities in order to achieve the increment of education value". In the definition we can see the important role educational assessment plays in teaching activities and in controlling and improving the quality of student learning. In summary, the scientific evaluation system ensures the successful implementation of curriculum aims.In recent years, curriculum reform in elementary and secondary schools has been spreading nationwide. Japanese is one of the required courses in foreign language teaching in China. In April, 2003, the Ministry of Education issued National Curriculum Standards for General Senior Secondary Schools. Compared with the former edition, Japanese Curriculum Standards for General Senior Secondary Schools brings about some surprising changes. This article will compare the Curriculum Standards with the former Teaching Syllabus in assessment system in order to draw the conclusions that the assessment system in Curriculum Standards will benefit the students more in integrating skills of language using and it's better to achieve the assessment tasks of New Curriculum for General Senior Secondary Schools.Meanwhile, surveys were conducted in High School Japanese learners and Japanese teachers focusing on the assessment system in Curriculum Standards. The findings are that most learners have already realized that the integrating skills in language using is the core of language learning and at the same time they have also recognized that focusing more on learning strategies and cultural accomplishment is necessary for improving the integrating language skills. More survey findings show that the assessment system in Curriculum Standards is widely accepted and supported by students and teachers all over China.
