It is strategic for the development of the competitive sports to cultivate reserve talents. The development of the competitive sports in China cannot have reserve strength unless the echelon construction of reserve talents is attached great importance to. Only with great number of participants to broaden the range of selecting the suitable persons can it be possible for a sport event to improve its overall level. It has been verified that we shall be at a disadvantage if we have no solid foundation and a steady flow of reserve talents. The cultivation system is one of the most important factors to influence the qualities of reserve talents. Therefore, it is worth discussing and analyzing to solve the problems present. This thesis has been conducted mainly through reading literatures, issuing questionnaire, interviewing and etc.According to the history of the development of the cultivation system of the reserve soccer talents in China, there are mainly two kinds of cultivation systems: the one in the planned economy structure and the other in the market-oriented economy structure. In this paper, the problems existing in the contest system and training system in the two different economy structures have been discussed and the qualities of the reserve talents cultivated have been compared. And a cultivation system of reserve soccer talents suitable to China has been probed into. In the planned economy structure, the financial foundation of the cultivation system of reserve talents was not secure and the system, which lacked self-regulation and vitality and was separated layer by layer, could hardly be adapted to the socialization since the reform. And there were also problems for the system in the market-oriented economy structure.The cultivation of reserve soccer talents has experienced several stages: starting stage, zigzag developing stage, severely damaged stage, recovering stage, specially developing stage in the reform and system transferring stage. In this paper, after analyzing the number of the reserve talents cultivated and the number and education background of the soccer coaches of reserve soccer echelon and inquiring into the regional distribution of the reserve talents, we have analyzed the factors influencing the qualities of the reserve talents cultivated and attempt to provide a countermeasure to improve the cultivation system of reserve soccer talents in our country.
