Since the 1990s, curriculum reforms all over the world have placed great emphasis on the transformation of study methods. Project Learning is becoming a world-wide theme in the education landscape. Our country's new round of basic curriculum reform has also presented the idea of Project Learning. "Geography Project Learning" is the result of introducing the Project Learning method to Geography teaching. This paper focuses on the teaching form of Project Learning in high school Geography. The paper has six parts.Chapter 1 introduces the background and significance of the topic, the current situation of Project Learning in the USA, France, the UK, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and our domestic development of Project Learning.Chapter 2 discusses the meaning of Project Learning and its characteristics of independency, openness, practicality, and emphasis on exploration, process, and wide participation. It also explores the theoretical basis of Project Learning from the perspectives of Cognitive Structure Learning Theory, Humanism Learning Theory, Constructivism Learning Theory, and Multiple Intelligence Theory.Chapters 3 and 4 are the main body of this paper. Chapter 3 covers the general theoretical topics of Geography Project Learning, including its teaching goals and contents selection. The author thinks that contents suitable for Project Learning can come from basic Geographic concepts and theories, Geographic topics from natural phenomena, everyday life, scientific frontiers, and hot issues in society. Chapter 4 describes the main classroom teaching forms of Geography Project Learning, including teacher guidance form, problem solving form, case study form, experiment and observation form, literature research form, and exploration form, with examples attached.Chapter 5 discusses the problems of implementing Project Learning, such as the lack of implementation atmosphere and conditions, teachers' lack of capabilities, over-crowded classes, and the shortage of classroom time. It then proposes solutions in the forms of mentality transformation, teacher training, reform and evaluation of examination system and human resources system.Chapter 6 is conclusion and discussion.Through the above discussions, this paper seeks to shed lights on the general theoretical topics and classroom teaching forms of Geography Project Learning.
