The essence of quality-oriented geography education at high school is classroom teaching, with improving the teaching efficiency being the basic requirement for the overall promotion of teaching quality of geography. However, in the actual class teaching activities, poor efficiency is a phenomenon that widely exists. It is the common aim of the high school geography teachers to finish the teaching objectives with high efficiency within limited time. Project management is a comprehensive introduction on both theory and method, by means of which the teaching goal can be clearer, the teaching content can be more detailed, the class time can be made better use of, and finally the innovation and improvement of classroom teaching can be better encouraged. In this case, the teachers may establish a harmonious relationship with the students and make conclusion and comments at due time, thus boosting their self-advancement.The essay concentrates on the promotion of the teaching efficiency of high school geography teachers, attempts to view the classroom teaching of high school geography as a project, and employs such methods as literature research, questionnaire survey, contrast research, activity research, etc. The major concerns are as follows:1). With the help of questionnaire survey, it is found that the existing problems of high school geography teaching find expression in ignorance of institution of management plan before class, in poor teaching efficiency in class, and in lack of the habit of making conclusion after class.2). Compare the high school geography teaching to the general projects and they are found to share the similarities as disposability, objective, timeliness, etc.3). As high school geography teaching and the general projects share the common points as above mentioned, and the project management is constituted of planning period, enforcement period and closing period, it is practical to apply the theory and method of project management to the teaching of high school geography.4). Regarding the geography teaching of high school as a project, this essay aims to demonstrate how to better prepare before class for the teaching activities and how to better organize the management teaching.5). In line with the work at the closing period of a project, this essay concerns correcting of homework, off-class tutoring and comments making after class.
