Today with the explosion of knowledge, if the talent is the root of building a powerful nation, the faculty is the source of building a famous university. Only with a team of high-level faculty, the university can achieve real development by leaps and bounds. In this paper, faculty appointment is a breakthrough. University faculty appointment is a complex system both in intension and extension, Involving faculty job classification, recruitment, salary and benefits and many other areas, American university as research subjects, hoping to seize the characteristics of the U. S. famous university faculty appointment, by systematic analyzing the implementation of faculty appointment, then providing some information and reference for faculty appointment reforms in china.The thesis based on the studying of the history and actuality of the faculty appointment system of university in the United States and China, the author analyzes the characteristics of both systems respectively. this article learns the advanced experience of specific operations from the American universities in the appointment of teachers, and then uses human resources theory to build up a set of mechanisms which is workable, scientific and rational, and suited to China's national conditions, from the University of strategic human resource management positions, teachers positions, teacher employment policies and procedures, salary system, teacher incentive and security mechanisms.
