"Social capital theory "is a newly emerging theory in the research of sociology and economics in recent years. It provides a new perspective for us to research and dialysis the society, making us to further deepen the understanding and awareness of social relationship, social action and social structure. Labor employment is an early application field of social capital theory. From the 1970's, the effect of the net of social relationship in the occupational mobility attracted people's attention gradually. A large number of studies have shown that, in many cases, when people make use of their net of social relationship to hunt work, they tend to be more effective to match with the work. However, at home and abroad, the researches of the social capital and employment-related experiences put the main focus on the lower human capital vulnerable groups, but pay less attention to the high human capital group of university students. Therefore, people form a mindset for a long time, they think the university students are a special groups, which get higher education. In accordance with the general understanding, their human capital which constituted by the core of their own qualifications, knowledge, skills and so on, is more than others, So when they hunt jobs, the human capital should play a role. But with the development of market economy, continuous promotion of employment system, university students' social capital (that is, the university students' information network for employment, social networking, the size of the opportunity to gain access to affordable, appropriate use of it) decide a university student's competitiveness in the job market. However, university students how to develop and utilise social capital on the employment process? This paper is making the answer to this problem as the center of the study.To begin with, this article integrate discussion of domestic and foreign scholars on social capital theory, combing the concept of social capital theory and research significance with Chinese characteristics based on the sociology and economics. Moreover, it explains the effect of social capital in university students' employment; Then, on the basis of the survey and interviews with the case to analyse University students' attitude of dealing with social capital and the actuality of use, as well as some of the problems which highlighted; And on this basis , the author advance countermeasures for the development and utilization of the sociall capital of university students' employment as follows: (1)Improve the stock of social capital of university students' employment, including expand the employment of social capital of universities, of the teachers in universities and of university students themselves.(2)Enhance the capacity of the use of social capital and employment, inclunding enhance the ability of the use of public employment and non-public employment of social capital. At last, the author put forward the problems and thinking of the "failure" of the social capital, the negative effects of social capital, improve human capital, reduce inequality of social capital, hoping university students could develop and utilize social capital more reasonable and ultimately improve their competitiveness and viability in the modern highly competitive society.
