Last year was the thirtieth year of reform and opening up . In the past thirty years, the contents of ideological and political education on college students had had a significant improvement. Looking back and thinking over the development course of the contents will be good for enriching the history system of ideological and political education in universities and the history system of ideological and political education of the Chinese Communist Party, will be good for enriching the theoretical system of ideological and political education, will be good for enriching the theoretical research which is around the theme of commemorating the thirtieth year of reform and opening up. The innovation is based on the inheritance. So the research of this topic will provide some reference to perfect and reform the contemporary contents of ideological and political education on college students; Meanwhile, the research of this topic will be good for us to understand, carry through and carry out the document "the Suggestions with Regard to Further Strengthen and Improve the Ideological and Political Education on College Students' which is promulgated by CPC Central Committee and the State Council. The paper mainly adopts the methods of historical materialism, literature consulting, historical reviewing and logic analysis to research and write. Firstly, the paper reviews the development course of the contents of ideological and political education on college students in the past thirty years. Based on the core content of the development on the ideological and political education on college students since reform and opening up was carried out, the history course can be divided into four stages in the rough: the stage whose core content is the education in communist ideology and morality ( from the holding of the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party at the end of 1978 to the holding of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 12th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party ); the stage whose core content is the education in Upholding the Four Cardinal Principles while opposing the bourgeois liberalization ( from the holding of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 12th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party to the holding of 14th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party); the stage whose core content is the education in patriotism, collectivism and socialism ( from the holding of the 14th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party to the holding of the 16th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party); the stage whose core content is the education in ideals and beliefs ( from the holding of the 16th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party to the present). Meanwhile, each stage can be further divided into different periods based on the development of specific contents. Then the paper reflects on the development course of the contents of ideological and political education on college students in the past thirty years from three aspects: Firstly, sum up some experiences which are fundamental, direct and regularly diverse; Secondly, examine the disadvantages and problems among the present contents of ideological and political education on college students; Thirdly, seek solutions to solve these problems. It is last year that was the thirtieth year since reform and opening up was carried out. Based on summarizing and drawing on the existing relevant research results, the author reviews more comprehensively and reflects more deeply on the development course of the contents of ideological and political education on college students in the past thirty years. Therefore, the topic itself is the first innovative point of this paper. Putting the core content of the ideological and political education on college students as the standard for dividing history stages is the second innovative point of this paper.
