Nowadays, as the pressure of employment is increasing, how to sharpen graduates' competitive edge and solve their employment problems has become the focus of the whole society. On one hand, many graduates are at a loss as how to find a job or whether they can find a job, so they are thrown into a panic. On the other hand, some small and medium-sized entrepreneurs are worried about that they can not recruit suitable human resources. This contradiction between supply and demand, to a large extent, is due to graduates' obscure career plan. Therefore, career planning for college students has a significant strategic importance to enhance students' competitive edge and overall quality in jobs, to improve the quality of employment, to promote the substantial healthy and harmonious development of higher education and to maintain the social security and stability.In this paper, we first introduce the concepts of career, career planning and its theoretical foundation. Through the analysis of survey of college students' career planning and expositions of career planning of foreign students, we find the wide-spread problems existing among students in China. We bring up the proposal of career planning for college students, design the procedures for career planning and discuss initially the service system of the career planning program. The focus of this paper, from the point of individuals and colleges, is to analysis the approaches of career planning for college students, to highlight the school's responsibility of guidance and co ordinance.This paper presents students' career planning system. Its core idea is to require schools to establish service agencies with rules and norms, which is as a whole career education and employment guidance system hub, integrating all aspects of resources to effectively educate students about employment and career planning.
