Geography attainment is a kind of steady psychological character which the learner can acquire through geography study. Geography attainment contains three layers of connotation which are science attainment, humane attainment and technology attainment, and it possesses characteristics such as integrated, spatial, dynamic, lifelong, realistic and practical etc. New teaching materials of new era attach importance not only to the geography knowledge education and also the cultivation of geography attainment. The geography attainment cultivation is one of important targets which the geography education aims to. But, from the geography attainment questionnaires to students and teachers, it reveals that the cultivation of geography consciousness and geography attainment have not gained enough recognition during the teaching and studying in geography education.Therefore, under the direction of creation education theory, constructivism studying theory and geography psychology teaching theory, combining with the reality of local geography classroom teaching, the paper probes thoroughly into how cultivate the students'geography attainment. It also brings forward the teaching procedure and the strategy of cultivating students'geography attainment in geography teaching, and puts into the practice.In fact, geography teaching at high school is an important approach to cultivate students'geography attainment. During the teaching, we should arouse students'interest, mix the knowledge of all subject together, and keep in tough with the actual life. Make the students learn the useful geography in daily life and for life, learn to change the method of studying geography and construct the open geography curriculum etc. The current teaching reform and the implement of new curriculum will conduce to the improving of students'geogeophy attainment. College entrance examination as the procedure to select excellent person with ability, its proposition of test questions reflects the traits of sticking to curriculum standard and sustaining curriculum reform, and also reflects sufficiently the assess to students'geography attainment. The further research adopts the case analysis, brings forward the countermeasure of cultivating and enhancing students'geography attainment: to accumulate more, to associate more, to read cursorily; to take process seriously, to pay attention to method, to cultivate good habits; to blend feeling and setting happily, to experience synthetically; to think broadly, to practice in various ways etc.
