Teaching is a complicated activity, which could be even more complicated if the teaching practice and the teaching theory could not communicate well. One of the characteristics of the teaching theories is abstractness. When the theory is more abstract, it can be farther away from the teaching practice. At the same time, the teaching styles between teachers are different. Some of their teaching experiences could be sublime into theories. How can we make the teaching theory guide the teaching practice?How can the experiences of teaching practice be sublimed into scientific theory?All of these kinds of questions are important projects not only for the teaching theory research but for the teachers.For a long time, people are trying to find a bridge between the teaching practice and the teaching theory, which play a role as an important communicator. The models of the teaching are used for choosing, abstracting and summarizing the teaching activities. It can also represent the basic characteristics of the teaching theory or teaching idea through the simple explanation or abstracted symbols. Therefore, teaching models can represent the teaching practice better than normal teaching theories. The teaching models can provide the examples for the teachers from imitation to creation, and they are the evidences for the researcher to extract the essence of the teaching theories. For these reasons, the teaching models can be used as the communicators between the teaching theories and the teaching practices.This article is for providing the experiences to the teaching models by studying the progress of the language class teaching in 30 years since reform and opening-up. Then provide the frame of reference and space for the construction of the effective teaching activities for the students. There are 5 parts of this article.Preface is about the background of the research, and the significance of this topic. Part I is an introduction of the model, providing definition and characteristic of the teaching model, making clear the breakthrough point for the reading teaching through models. The realistic meaning of the teaching models research.Part II is the Research of the language class teaching models in the last 30 years since the year of reform and opening-up, a close study of the progress of the language class teaching models in 1980s, 1990s and in 21st century. There are three parts for each period 1. a description of the typical teaching experience in this period. 2. a summarization of the normal teaching models in this period. 3. A study of the progress of the reading teaching by using the teaching models.Part III Introspection on the progress of the development of the reading teaching in the last 30 years. Raising the questions which could be solved. Designing the reasonable orientation of the reading teaching models in the future.Conclusion Introspection and summarization of the goals which are realized through this study, and the limitations of this study.
